Mongrel Marie, better known as Mongie or by her real name Leeanne Krecic, is the author and illustrator of the WEBTOON "Let's Play".
Biography[]
Leeanne current resides in Kansas City, MO. Mongie is "an illustrator, concept artist, former code-monkey, part-time amazonian princess, lvl14 elven-mage, [and] retired tuba player" according to all her social media! She is also a notable fan of the "Girls of the Wild" and "My Dear Cold Blooded King" WEBTOON's, having binged the latter in one night. [1]
Work on Let's Play[]
The inspiration for "Let's Play" came when Mongie was watching a Youtuber do a let's play of an amateur game. The streamer became frustrated and went off on-screen about the game. Mongie's mind began to wonder on what the creator of the game must be feeling if they watched this let's play, what would happen if they met in real life... She combined her thoughts and, wanting her first comic to be a romance, "Let's Play" was born! [2]
