Samuel A. Young is the CEO of Young Technologies and the father of Sam and Jay Young. A physically imposing man, he is also an excellent businessman despite his often erratic behavior. He is fiercely protective of Sam due to her poor health and constant hospital stays. He is also quite attached to his wife and suffers from separation anxiety, which often frustrates his wife and Sam.
History[]
Samuel Young was an ambitious man who sought to create his own technology company. He married his wife Samantha after only knowing her for 2 weeks. They quickly settled down and had their son Samuel Young Jr. (Nicknamed Jay) shortly after their wedding, but suffered multiple miscarriages before they conceived their daughter Samara. Because he had to build his company from the ground up, Samuel was forced to take out of state business trips while his wife stayed behind and looked after their son while she was pregnant with their second child.
After coming home from one of his business trips, Samuel found his wife bleeding on the floor, going into premature labor from stress. Though they were able to save both Samantha and Samara, Samuel blamed himself for leaving her alone in the first place and developed separation anxiety as a result. To cope with this, Samuel began working from home so he could take better care of his family and wife. Shortly after, Samuel's company Young Technologies took off and Samuel could no longer telecommute. Samantha became Samuel's receptionist so he would not have to worry about her health, though they were still forced to take their daughter in and out of intensive care due to her being born prematurely.
Years later, Samara began working for her father as a software developer, so he could groom her into being the next CEO of Young Technologies. With their children now grown, Samantha was scouted by an agency and offered to be a model. Though Samuel was supportive of her, he still feared being separated from Samantha so that he could protect her.
Personality[]
Despite his stern and imposing appearance, Samuel is a charming, compassionate, caring, and emotional man, who cares greatly for the well being of his employee's and especially his family. He commands respect from all who work for him though he will occasionally slack off with them at times. He is comedically overprotective of his family, most notably his daughter who he affectionately refers to as his "peachy pumpkin poo" and disapproves of her being around anyone of the opposite gender. While he can seem clingy at times, Samuel suffers from separation anxiety as a result of a past trauma involving his wife and daughter. His overprotective nature stems from a sense of self-blame and guilt over leaving his wife alone to take care of their children. Nevertheless, Samuel is still supportive of his family and will prioritize their happiness above his.

Samuel is a tall, well built and imposing, standing over six feet tall, with slick back brown hair greying on his temples and brown with goatee with grey strips. He is normally seen wearing a business suit though will have a more disheveled appearance when stressed.

- Samantha Young: Samantha is Samuel's wife, whom he married when he was 19 years old. Despite barely knowing each other for 2 weeks before getting married, Samuel fell head over heels in love with Samantha and has been nothing but devoted to her for the 30 years they have been married. Because Samuel had to build his company from the ground up, he was forced to leave his wife at home to care for their son, while he had to take business trips. Samuel developed separation anxiety after coming home to find her bleeding and going into premature labor, which he still has nightmares of to this day. Unable to go another day separated, Samuel began working from home so he could take better care of his wife, even appointing her as his receptionist. Despite his anxiety, Samuel is still supportive of his wife after she became a model and traveling the country.
- Jay Young: Samuel Young Jr. is Samuel's oldest child and only son. Samuel loves his son just as much as he does his wife and daughter. Though they have not been shown interacting, Jay is similar to his father in that he is also overprotective of his younger sister and will usually monitor her check ups to ensure she is in good health. Samuel usually relies on Jay to look after Samara when he is unable to.
- Sam Young: Samara is Samuel's youngest child and only daughter. Samara is considered Samuel's miracle child as he and his wife suffered multiple miscarriages before they were able to conceive her. Because she was born prematurely, Samuel is especially protective of his daughter due to her health issues and affectionately dots on her. Though he supports her decisions and independence, he does feel lonely when she does not confide in him about any issues she has, though he is still proud of her and all she has accomplished.

- Charles Jones: Charles is Samuel's General manager. Charles is Samuel's most reliable employee whom he usually trusts to handle his company and on rare occasions his daughter. Samuel is close enough to Charles to confide in him his personal struggles though he is still uncomfortable of him and his daughter Samara spending time together.
